Veteran Pakistani actor Farah Nadir has revealed details about the earnings and remuneration of actors in the country’s entertainment industry, saying leading performers can earn millions of rupees from a single drama.
Farah Nadir recently appeared as a guest on a private television channel’s programme hosted by Wasi Shah, where she discussed various aspects of the showbiz industry, including the financial rewards available to those working in the field.
Responding to a question about actors’ earnings, Nadir said performers could command significantly higher incomes than people in many other professions.
She explained that if an ordinary person earned Rs100,000 in a month, an actor could potentially make a similar amount within 10 days.
According to the veteran actor, those playing lead roles earn considerably more, with leading male and female performers able to receive between Rs1.5 million and Rs2 million for a drama.
She added that in some cases, the remuneration could rise to Rs3 million or even Rs4 million, depending on the actor and the project.
Nadir also pointed out that the entertainment industry could be highly lucrative if producers paid actors their agreed fees on time.
It is worth noting that Nadir herself did not name any actors while discussing the figures. During the programme, the female host mentioned the names of several prominent stars, including Humayun Saeed, Fahad Mustafa, Feroze Khan, Ahsan Khan, Iqra Aziz, Sajal Aly and Hania Aamir.
Farah Nadir began her acting career with the classic television drama Khuda Ki Basti and has remained associated with the Pakistani entertainment industry for decades.
