How Can Overseas Pakistanis Transfer Their Vehicles Without Visiting Embassy

LAHORE – The Punjab government has decided to make the vehicle transfer and ownership transfers easier for overseas Pakistanis in the province as it has contacted National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) for introducing an online system.

Following the successful launch of the biometric system on the Pak ID app in Islamabad and Sindh, the Punjab government has now taken steps to integrate the excise system in the province.

The Director General of Excise has reconnected with NADRA to speed up the integration process and introduce the facility in Punjab as soon as possible.

Online Vehicle Transfer Facility

The new system will allow users to verify vehicle details such as registration number, chassis number, and owner’s name via biometric authentication on the Nadra’s Pak ID app.

Previously, overseas Pakistanis had to send an authority letter, certified by the embassy, to Pakistan for vehicle transfers—a long and complex process.

Authorities believe that the new biometric system will help eliminate fraud and illegal transfers of vehicles registered under overseas Pakistanis.

Currently, due to delays in biometric verification, thousands of cars are running on open letters.

Officials have confirmed that the integration between NADRA and the excise department has already been completed, and the biometric verification system will soon be available.
