A house lady in Lahore has been arrested after she allegedly set her housemaid on fire. The victim, 40-year-old Shabnam, has been left with 70 per cent burns and is in critical condition in hospital.
According to police, the house lady, identified as Shazia, doused Shabnam with petrol and set her alight after she asked for hot water. The incident took place in the North Cantt police station limits. Shabnam had been working for Shazia’s family for 11 years. The motive for the attack is unclear, but police are investigating the possibility that Shazia was angry with Shabnam for asking for hot water.
