Speaking on the occasion, Consul General Sun said that the inauguration marked an important milestone in advancing media education, professional development and Pakistan–China academic and media cooperation.
He said the establishment of the Saud Faisal Malik School of Media Studies is a matter of profound honour and carries a deep sense of responsibility.
Saud Faisal Malik, CEO of Pakistan Observer and the daily CPEC, said that the association of my name with an academic institution dedicated to media studies represents a lasting commitment to nurturing Pakistan’s next generation of journalists, media professionals and strategic communications practitioners.
He said the Daily CPEC Studio and the School of Media Studies together would provide a distinctive platform connecting academia, professional journalism, digital media and Pakistan–China engagement.
The initiative is envisioned to provide students and emerging media professionals with practical exposure to international journalism, digital broadcasting, multimedia production, strategic communications and contemporary media practices, he said. Addressing the ceremony Saud Faisal Malik said the presence of the Chinese Consul General at the inauguration further underscored the importance of strengthening academic, media and people-to-people connections between Pakistan and China.
“Through this initiative, RLKU and The Daily CPEC seek to create greater opportunities for academic exchange, professional training, media collaboration and international exposure, while encouraging responsible, ethical and forward-looking journalism,” he said.
He said that the Saud Faisal Malik School of Media Studies is envisioned not merely as an academic institution, but as a centre for nurturing talent, promoting responsible journalism and preparing a new generation of media professionals with a global outlook.
