Rain and snowfall alert with landslides was issued on Sunday by Met office for the lower and upper regions of the country besides rain with thunderstorms in various areas of Punjab during next 24 hours.
Met office said a strong westerly wave approached western parts of the country and may grip upper/central parts of the country from Sunday. There is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in Neelum valley, Bagh, Poonch and Havelian regions of Azad Kashmir. The Met department expressed the possibility of landslides in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, Skardu and Gilgit Baltistan’s areas due to rain and snowfall.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. On Sunday partly cloudy to cloudy weather with rain-wind/thunderstorm (snow over mountain) is expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, Islamabad, Punjab, northern Balochistan.
