The federal government and petroleum dealers have reached an agreement, paving the way for the execution of the Fuel Relief Package.
The development followed a meeting in Islamabad between representatives of the Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association (PPDA), Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik and senior officials from the Ministry of Petroleum. According to the PPDA, the discussions resulted in the resolution of all pending matters.
A key point of the agreement concerns the payment process for petroleum dealers. The government is expected to issue an official notification detailing the mechanism soon. Under the agreed arrangement, outstanding payments to eligible dealers will be routed through the State Bank and credited to their bank accounts within 48 hours.
The PPDA described its discussions with government representatives as constructive, saying the agreement has cleared the way for executing the relief package.
During the meeting, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik also pledged to strengthen consultation with industry stakeholders in future policy formulation and decision-making. With the two sides reaching consensus, implementation of the Fuel Relief Package is now underway.
