Friendly steps needed to attract tourists to Pakistan

Ambassador of Nepal Mr Tapas Adhikari hosted a reception for his Nepali and Pakistani guests to meet and greet the participants of a symposium on Gandhara Civilization taking place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The guests included Nepal’s respected monk Venerable PanditSankichcha, a writer and researcher of Gandhara Civilization of Pakistan, MrKeshabmanShakya, a political activist and former Deputy Mayor of Bhaktapur Om Prakash and journalist KedarBhattarai who is the Chief Reporter of Nepal’s oldest newspaper, Gorkhapatra Daily.

A lively discussion took place on the occasion about the huge potential (though untapped and unexploited) Pakistan has in the Buddhist tourism sector.

According to MrKeshabmanShakyaGandhara is the name famous among the Buddhists of the world and Pakistan is the custodian of that ancient seat of learning and heritage.
