Forced Conversion bill to be tabled in NA soon: Kakar

Senator Anwar-ul-Haq Kakar said that a bill on minority issues was introduced in the Sindh Assembly, but it has not yet been passed. “The bill was about forcibly converting Hindu girls to marriage.” He said the Sindh government is working on the rights of minorities and the bill on forced marriages of Hindu girls is very important The Senator said, “We are returning from Sindh with high hopes. Various parties have assured us that this long standing problem of Sindh will be resolved amicably. Forced conversions are also a problem in other provinces.” Kakar said the Sindh governor did not sign the bill in this regard as when the bill went to the governor after the assembly, it was criticized.” He asserted that there was a lot of talk in the media about forced marriages of young Hindu girls , however, the conversion rate of Hindu girls is not very high.
