Dense Fog Causes Closure Of Several Sections Of Motorways

LAHORE – Dense fog has disrupted traffic on sections of motorways across the country with authorities closing several entry and exit points for safety of commuters.

Due to thick fog, visibility has significantly reduced in various cities, leading to the closure of several motorways at multiple points.

Fog: Motorway Closed at These Points

The motorway police said following sections are closed for traffic:

M-2 Motorway: Access from Lahore to Kot Momin is prohibited.

M-3 Motorway: Closed from Lahore to Dera Khana.

M-5 Motorway: Blocked from Multan to Zahir Peer.

M-4 Motorway: Closed from Pindi Bhattian to Abdul Hakeem.

M-11 Motorway: The Sialkot motorway has also been completely shut down.

In addition to motorways, the national highways have also experienced a significant decrease in visibility, severely affecting traffic flow.

The motorway police have advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel and exercise caution while driving.

Earlier, the Met Office had predicted rain-wind/thunderstorm in Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Potohar region, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Noorpurthal and Layyahr.

It had also stated that cloudy weather conditions with drizzle is also expected in Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Multan, Jhang, D.G Khan and Toba Tek Singh.

It has advised tourists and travelers visiting mountainous areas to remain cautious.

Farmers are advised to manage their activities keeping in view the latest weather forecast, it added.
