An intense exchange of fire between the Pakistan Army led security forces and the miscreants resulted in the killing of as many as five hardcore terrorists including a wanted militant commander in Mir Ali Tehsil of the North Waziristan tribal district on Friday late night.
According to Media wing of the Pakistan army the security forces conducted Intelligence Based Operation on the reported presence of militants in the outskirts of Mir Ali Tehsil of North Waziristan tribal district. As the militants offered resistance, a fierce exchange of fire took place between the forces and the anti-state elements leading to the killing of hardcore Commander Rahzeb alias Khoray along with his four other comrades.
“On 29 December 23, security forces conducted an intelligence based operation in general area of Mir Ali, North Waziristan District, on reported presence of the terrorists. During the conduct of operation, after intense fire exchange, five terrorists, including Terrorist Commander Rahzaib alias Khoray, were sent to hell”.
Said an Inter-Services Public Relations communiqué issued on Saturday adding the killed terrorists remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as extortion and target killings of innocent civilians. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered during the operation.
The ISPR said the locals of the area have highly appreciated the operation. “Sanitization operation is being carried out to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area as the security forces are determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country”. The ISPR concluded.
In one of the bloodiest ambush a group of terrorist, it may be recalled, had stormed a Security forces in Daraban area of the DI Khan with sophisticated weapons leaving two dozen soldiers martyred on December 12 though in the retaliatory operations conducted in the region the same day 27 militants were also gunned down by the forces.
Likewise, at least four men in uniform were martyred and many other wounded in two attacks one at the Police Lines in Tank district and other on a security forces check post in Khyber Tribal district on December 15 last.
