First-Ever SWAT Batch passes out with Women, Minority Cadets Making History

ISLAMABAD – First-ever batch of Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Force officially passed out, marking a milestone in Pakistan’s counter-terrorism capabilities.

The ceremony, held at the Islamabad Police Lines, saw 25 courageous women and 20 youth from the Christian community among the graduating cadets—an unprecedented display of diversity and inclusivity in the force.

The grand passing-out parade was attended by the Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi who was the chief guest and personally inspected the drill. Choreographed contingents of cadets marched in perfect unison, presenting a crisp salute to the minister, who lauded their rigorous training and exceptional professional skills.

Highlighting cadets’ dedication and discipline, Minister Naqvi distributed awards to those demonstrating outstanding performance, while extending heartfelt congratulations to the passing-out batch for achieving this remarkable feat.

The ceremony was attended by IG Islamabad Police Ali Nasir Rizvi, senior police officials, and proud relatives of the cadets, all witnessing a historic step forward in the city’s fight against terrorism.

This first batch of SWAT officers not only symbolizes enhanced operational readiness but also reflects Islamabad Police’s commitment to inclusivity, gender equality, and community representation within elite law enforcement units.
