ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan is offering shares of the Fauji Foundation Group to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in a deal worth $1 billion.
The key transaction led by Fauji Foundation is expected to be finalized by March 31, 2026, and will remove this amount from Pakistan’s liabilities, providing a significant boost to the country’s finances.
In annual press conference, Dar revealed that during a recent high-level meeting, UAE President pledged an additional $2 billion rollover, strengthening bilateral financial ties and signaling growing confidence in Pakistan’s economic direction.

Dar stressed the government’s goal to transform the country into an economic powerhouse. He credited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s relentless efforts for ensuring stability and growth, while noting robust trade with the U.S. ($13.28 billion surplus), financial support from China ($4 billion) and the UAE ($3 billion), and Saudi Arabia’s cooperation with the IMF program.
Deputy prime minister also pointed to Pakistan’s rising global influence, including renewed dialogue with the EU, strengthened relations with Beijing, the Middle East, and Central Asia, and a strategic defense pact with Saudi Arabia. He condemned attacks on Tehran and underscored Pakistan’s diplomatic balance in regional affairs.
On the Palestine issue, Dar firmly stated that Islamabad would not disarm Hamas, strongly condemning Israeli violations. He highlighted that eight Muslim countries, including five Arab states, are actively coordinating with the U.S. to promote peace in the region.
