A father and his son were shot dead by their rivals over a petty issue in the Hanjarwal area of Lahore on Thursday.

According to police, the incident happened after elders jumped into a brawl of children, which started with bitter words of trivial importance. It, however, turned violent later, leaving a man and his son dead in firing by the rivals.

The slains were identified as 50-year-old Ashraf and 30-year-ol Azeem Ashraf.

The accused made their escape good after the incident.

The bodies of the deceased were shifted to a morgue after legal proceedings. Both the rival parties belonged to same family.
