KARACHI – The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a 20-year electricity distribution license for DHA Energy Supply Company, allowing it to provide power distribution services within DHA City Karachi.

The license will remain effective from October 1, 2026, until September 30, 2046, and is limited exclusively to the boundaries of DHA City Karachi. The approval does not permit the company to operate electricity distribution services outside the designated project area.

DHA City Karachi is a large-scale residential development situated approximately 56 kilometers from Karachi, covering an area of around 22,000 acres.

Under the terms set by NEPRA, the company will require regulatory approval before charging consumers any electricity tariff or connection-related fees. The authority has also directed DHA Energy Supply Company to submit an application for tariff determination within 30 days.

NEPRA further stated that the company must follow all applicable regulatory requirements, including standards related to financial management, technical operations, and workforce capacity, to ensure reliable electricity distribution services within DHA City Karachi.
