On the directives of Punjab Inspector General of Punjab Inam Ghani, vigorous operations are being carried out in all districts of the province to improve the law and order situation and raise sense of security among the masses.
In this regard, Dera Ghazi Khan Police under the leadership of DPO Omar Saeed Malik have been taking on anti-social elements in well-thought-out manner.
The district police, comprising 18 police stations, have arrested a total of 52 proclaimed offenders and other accused involved in various crimes. The police recovered drugs and illegal weapons.
Sharing details of police operations, DPO Omar Saeed Malik said that district police arrested dacoits and thieves and recovered stolen goods worth Rs725,200.
In 50 cases of illegal weapons, 174 bullets including 08 Kalashnikovs, 36 pistols, 01 revolver, 04 carbines were recovered. Regarding the ongoing drug eradication operations, the DPO said that police recovered 77.255 kg of hashish (chars) 2086 liters of liquor, 239 bottles, 5.450 kg of hemp, 1.200 kg of opium and 3 kg of ice(crystal meth) from the possession of the accused.
Apart from this, 05 cases of gambling were registered in the district and Rs. 36250 was recovered.
DPO Omar Saeed Malik added that full-scale operations against anti-social elements would continue. The district police is fully alert for the discharge of its duties.
The people should consider the police as their protectors and helpers and immediately inform the concerned police about the presence of suspicious persons around them.
He declared that Inshallah, all available resources will be utilising to protect the life, honour and property of the common man, adding that the police jawan will never hesitate to offer any sacrifice for the sacred cause of public protection.
