LAHORE – The Punjab government has expanded the jurisdiction of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) across the Dera Ghazi Khan (DG Khan) Police Region in line with Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision of a “Safe Punjab.”
Punjab Home Department said that the provincial cabinet approved the extension of CTD’s jurisdiction, bringing Tehsil Koh-e-Suleman in Dera Ghazi Khan and Tehsil (Excluded Area) Rajanpur under the authority of CTD Dera Ghazi Khan.
Following the expansion, CTD Dera Ghazi Khan’s jurisdiction will now cover all districts of the DG Khan Police Region, including Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Layyah and Rajanpur.
The spokesperson said the decision formally amends a notification issued on September 27, 2019.
A new notification has been issued after recommendations from the Home Department and approval by the provincial cabinet to give legal effect to the decision.
