Lok Mela 2025 brought Islamabad to life this year, turning Lok Virsa into a vivid showcase of Pakistan’s cultural identity from November 7–16. For 10 days,the festival drew thousands of visitors, creating a lively meeting point for people from every corner of the country.
Held in the heart of Shakarparian, the event gathered artisans, musicians, dancers, and craft experts from all provinces, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Each regional pavilion offered a window into its traditions, allowing visitors to experience the nation’s cultural depth in one place.
From the embroidered textiles of Sindh to the intricate woodwork of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the pottery of Punjab, the festival celebrated the skills that define Pakistan’s artistic heritage. Live craft demonstrations became one of the most popular attractions, giving audiences an up-close look at age-old techniques.
These exchanges not only highlighted the country’s craftsmanship but also sparked conversations that bridged generations and revived pride in traditional practices. Evenings were marked by energetic folk performances that filled the venue with rhythm and color.
Themed cultural nights showcased music and dance from different regions, turning each night into a celebration of collective identity. Families, students, and tourists gathered in large numbers, creating an atmosphere that felt festive, inclusive, and deeply connected.
This year’s event also featured an international pavilion, introducing visitors to global cultures and emphasizing the value of cultural dialogue. Lok Mela 2025 stood out as more than a festival.
