PESHAWA R With the addition of around fifty more cases during the last 24 hours the number of those tested positive for COVID-19 in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province jumped to 744 while 34 people succumbed to Corona Virus so far. The advisor to Chief Minister KP on Information Ajmal Wazir Monday confirmed the figures yet has out rightly rebutted the news carried by a section of press that 1100 pilgrims coming from Iran were missing. “False news are making rounds that 1100 pilgrims coming from Iran were missing. This news is absolutely baseless and Media should avoid circulating such kind of stories that have no ground”. The KP CM advisor on Information said during a news conference. He has also asked the Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah no to do politics in the currentpandemic situation. He said that So far the total number of cases in the province is 744 w h i l e the number of treated and recovered persons from Corona has been 145 and 34 people have died of the Corona Virus adding in the last 24 hours, 47 new Corona cases have been reported in the province. Wazir said the capacity of Corona Testing in the province would be increased to five thousand. He said under Ehsaas program, the distribution of relief funds to the public in a transparent manner was underway adding that in 2nd phase Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Relief Package of RS 6000 would also be distributed among deserving. Ajmal Wazir said besides Ehsaas program KP government would also disburse an additional RS 12000 to one lakh deserving families from zakat fund. He said the distribution of relief was totally transparent. He said that Chief Minister Mahmood Khan himself was monitoring all arrangements regarding the corona pandemic. “ The Doctors , Paramedic staff, police and army are fighting on front line against the corona virus and they are our heroes and the whole nation will always remember them as a Maseeha”. Ajmal Wazir said adding people from all walks of life, business community, religious scholars were standing with the provincial government in fight against the pandemic. He said that despite the pandemic situation, the promises made to the tribal people were being fulfilled. Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has approved the absorption of 3,244 Khasadaars from South Waziristan in Police adding the Chief Minister has also approved 196 children of police martyrs to be recruited as an ASI in the police.
