Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Thursday reaffirmed her government’s commitment to ensuring safe, quality and timely healthcare for patients across the province on World Patient Safety Day.

In her message, the chief minister said patient safety was a fundamental requirement for quality healthcare, adding that protecting patients’ safety and rights remained a top priority of the provincial health system.

She said measures to improve patient safety were being strengthened alongside improvements in healthcare services, while comprehensive health reforms had been launched across Punjab.

CM Maryam Nawaz said field hospitals and Clinics on Wheels were providing medical treatment to millions of patients at their doorsteps. She added that an air ambulance service had also been launched to evacuate emergency patients from remote and underdeveloped areas.
