Cm Maryam Leaves For Four Day Official Visit To China

LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday departed for China on a four-day official visit aimed at strengthening cooperation between Punjab and the Chinese province of Xinjiang.

Chinese Consul General Sun Yan was present at the airport to see off the Punjab chief minister as she left for China.

Maryam Nawaz will be received by senior Chinese officials upon her arrival at Ürümqi International Airport, where she will begin her official engagements.

The chief minister is scheduled to commence her activities at the Kunlun Hall of the Conference Centre at the Xinjiang State Guest House.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz will hold meetings with a high-level delegation led by Chen Xiaojian, Secretary of the Communist Party of China in Xinjiang.

She will also meet He Zhongyou, Deputy Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee, to discuss matters of mutual interest and opportunities for greater cooperation.

The Punjab chief minister is further scheduled to hold an important meeting with a delegation of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps (XPCC).

The visit is expected to provide an opportunity to explore cooperation in areas of mutual interest and strengthen relations between Punjab and Xinjiang.

A dinner will also be hosted in honour of Maryam Nawaz and the Punjab delegation by He Zhongyou, Deputy Party Secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Committee, who also serves as Party Secretary and Political Commissar.
