Chairperson CPB lays foundation stone for CPI in Lodhran

On the directions of Chief Minister Punjab, Chaudhary Pervez Elahi, Chairperson Child Protection Bureau (CPB) Sarah Ahmad laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Child Protection Unit Lodhran building. Child Protection Units are being established in different districts of Punjab since 2019. Superintendent Jail District Lodhran, representatives from Building Department and District administration and representatives of different Government departments also participated the inauguration ceremony. While talking to media, she mentioned that Child Protection Bureau was established by then Chief Minister Chaudhary Pervez Elahi in 2004 in Lahore and now on the directions of Chief Minister Pervez Elahi, CPWB is being expanded across all districts of Punjab. She said that

Child Protection Units are being established in different districts of Punjab since 2019. Child Protection Unit is also being established at Lodhran for Protection of children rights in Lodhran.

The building of Child Protection Unit Lodhran will be constructed near Judicial Complex Lodhran. Chairperson Child Protection Bureau, Sarah Ahmad said that the Child Protection Unit will provide accommodation to about 30 children in Lodhran and will act as a referral unit. She said that the building of Child Protection Unit Lodhran will be constructed in 2 year at a cost of about Rs.33 million.

Sarah Ahmad told that Child Protection Units are being set up in 14 districts of Punjab including Lodhran.

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad said that the scope of the Child Protection Bureau will soon be extended to all the districts of Punjab. The establishment of a Child Protection Unit will make possible the protection of children in Lodhran District. She said this while addressing a gathering of children, parents, civil society members and NGO representatives in Lodhran.

Chairperson Sarah Ahmad thanked the Chief Minister Punjab, Chief Secretary Punjab, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department and other departments for their cooperation in setting up child protection units in the districts of Punjab. Chairperson also acknowledged the support of the Building Department and District administration for the establishment of Child Protection Unit.
