ISLAMABAD – The federal government on Wednesday gave the additional charge of federal health secretary to Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service.
He has replaced Aslam Ghauri, who was suspended for 120 days earlier in the day following tragic fire incident at PIMS hospital that claimed lives of 14 infants.
The Establishment Division has issued a notification in this regard.
“Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood, a BS-21 officer of Pakistan Administrative Service, presently posted as Secretary, Housing and Works Division, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act, 1973, is assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary, National Health Services, Regulation and Coordination Division, in addition to his own duties, for a period of three months or till the posting of a regular incumbent; whichever is earlier, with immediate effect,” read the notification.
It also issued a notification regarding suspension of Aslam Ghauri, stating the BS-22 officer of the Secretariat Group has been placed under suspension for a period of one hundred and twenty (120) days in terms of Rule 5 of the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rule 2020, with immediate effect.
