Campaign against Sui gas theft continues

A forceful campaign against the theft of Sui Gas has been launched by the Regional Office of Sui Gas in Hazara Division and special teams headed by senior officers has been deputed to check the theft cases of Sui Gas in Hazara Division.

Regional Manager HazaraRehmatUllahMurwat while giving briefing to the media at his office on Tuesday informed that Industrial, commercial and domestic connection will be checked and total that in last year , they had checked more than 4459 cases out of which only43 tempered meter were found and heavy fines and penalties were imposed.

He told that Rs. 3.4 million fines were recovered while Rs.1.7 million recoveries were also made. One case of theft of CNG was reported and fine of Rs8.52 million was imposed and the accused is still absconder.

Under the energy saving plan, last year 14 KM lines were replaced while this year 29 KM pipe lines will be replaced which will save the leakage also from the outdate gas pipe lines. Conical were also installed in the geezers and still Sui Gas department is providing consumers which will reduce the gas bills. Special squads are also taking care of use of gas compressors and heavy fines with disconnections of the connections are also done.

RM warned that strict legal action will be taken for which services of FIA and other law enforcing agencies are also taken.
