ATC judge enraged over absence of City Mayor


An anti-terrorism court (ATC) heard the case of treatment of terrorists in Zia-ud-Din Hospital of Dr. AsimHussain on Saturday. PSP leader AnisQaimkhani, MQM-P leader RaufSiddiqui, PPP leader DrAsim and other accused appeared in the court but Karachi Mayor WaseemAkhtarwas absent without informing the court earlier. The court expressed strong anger over the absence of Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar. Why WaseemAkhtardidnot appear? Court remarked and orderedthe city Mayor to appear in any case at the next hearing. PPP MNA Qadir Patel also did not appear but his lawyer present an application in which Qadir said, “I am in Islamabad in view of National Assembly session.”Qadir Patel’s request for exemption from attendence. The court accepted Qadir Patel’s request for exemption from attendance The court was adjourned further hearing in the case till August 15.
