Afghanistan Cricket Board welcomes fans with free entry for Pakistan series

An announcement has been made for cricket fans regarding the Pak-Afghan series, consisting of three matches between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

For the Pak-Afghan One Day International se-ries to be held in Sri Lanka, cricket fans can watch the matches at the stadium without tickets, with Afghanistan Cricket Board hosting the matches.

The first One Day International between Paki-stan and Afghanistan will take place on August 22, the second match on August 24, and the third on August 26. The series matches are scheduled in Hambantota and Colombo.

On the other hand, the national team’s cricketers participated in a training camp before the series against Afghanistan.

Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, has em-barked on a journey to Colombo, creating a buzz of anticipation as he is slated to meet with the national cricketers in Sri Lanka.

Ashraf set off for Colombo between Friday and Saturday night, following an invitation from the President of Sri Lanka Cricket, Mohan de Silva.

His visit coincides with the upcoming Asia Cup, scheduled to commence in Multan on August 30 as part of Pakistan’s hosting duties, with matches slated to begin in Sri Lanka on August 31. During his stay, Ashraf will not only oversee the preparations but also engage in crucial meetings as well.

Sources revealed that te PCB chairman is ac-tively working towards strengthening Pakistan’s relations with Test-playing nations. As part of this endeavor, he will continue his series of meetings.

Sri Lanka Cricket has extended an invitation to him to witness the final showdown of the Lanka Premier League 2023, which is set to take place on Sunday.

Discussions regarding the Asia Cup are also on the agenda. In parallel, the Pakistan cricket team is currently stationed in Sri Lanka, with the first One Day International of the series against Afghanistan scheduled for August 22 in Hambantota.

In addition to his administrative responsibilities, Zaka Ashraf is expected to meet with the national cricketers. His presence is anticipated to boost the players’ confidence, particularly in relation to their central contracts.
