Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi organized a heartfelt musical tribute in memory of renowned guitarist Afaq Adnan on his first death anniversary. Held at the Jaun Elia Lawn, the event drew a large crowd of Adnan’s students, colleagues, and admirers, who gathered to celebrate his lasting legacy in the music industry.
The tribute featured stellar performances from various artists, including ACMA The Band, Sounds of Kolachi, Arman Rahim, Ahsan Bari, Faraz Anwar, Shams-ul-Arifeen, Shahid Rahman, Imad-ur-Rehman, Zaib, Russell D’Souza, Jambroz, Mustafa Baloch, Ahmer Mustafa, Muhammad Zubair, Muneeb Khan, Muzammil, and Mohsin Ali. The evening was filled with soulful renditions of Adnan’s most memorable compositions, leaving the audience captivated. Renowned singer Arman Rahim paid homage to Adnan’s influence, saying, “Afaq Adnan may no longer be with us, but he will always live in our hearts.”
He described Adnan as not only a dear friend but also an extraordinary mentor—”a university of music in himself.” The audience deeply appreciated the performances, celebrating Adnan’s immense contributions to Pakistan’s music scene. The event, hosted by Nauman Khan, served as a poignant reminder of the guitarist’s enduring impact on the industry and his students.
