Punjab Senior and Food Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Monday said that it is not acceptable to promote provincialism under the guise of politics and Mahmood Achakzai’s statement based on Lahore and Punjab enmity is reprehensible on which the leadership of PDM should also take notice.
Expressing grief and anger over Mahmood Achakzai’s speech at Minar-e-Pakistan Jalsa, Abdul Aleem Khan said that such allegations against “Zinda Dilane Lahore” could not be part of any progressive political thinking. Nothing could be gained from levelling such baseless accusations, as people of Pakistan will not tolerate it, he added. Abdul Aleem Khan said that it is incomprehensible to go so far in order to oppose Imran Khan alone. He said that, in fact, Mahmood Achakzai is crossing all boundaries of propriety to fulfill his nefarious agenda but he will not succeed in it. The nation is united under the green flag of Pakistan and it will thwart these efforts of anarchy. Abdul Aleem Khan said that the opposition should politicize these issues and there should be no such irresponsible rhetoric. He said that even after 73 years since the establishment of Pakistan, it was unfortunate to have such blatant hatred towards the beloved homeland which no patriot would support. Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan said that Mahmood Achakzai’s speech has broken the heart of every Pakistani for which he should apologize to the entire nation.
