Yasmin grants approval for FJWU budget, research posts

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has granted approval for the 17th Syndicate meeting decisions as well as the nomination for the inclusion of new members.
Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid was chairing the 18th Syndicate meeting of the Fatima Jinnah Medical University on Saturday. Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department Special Secretary Silwat Saeed, Fatima Jinnah Medical University Vice Chancellor Professor Amir Zaman Khan, University of Health Sciences Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Javed Akram, Dr Sohail Shahzad, Ganga Ram Hospital medical superintendent and other officials attended the meeting.
FJWU registrar presented the agenda items of the meeting. The minister inquired about the progress on the construction of the quaternary mother and child hospital project at the Ganga Ram Hospital.
The minister okayed the policy of two research posts as well as granted approval for the annual procurement plan of the Fatima Jinnah Medical University for the year 2020-21. Further, the minister approved expenses for the medical journals for the library and for the refurbishing of the Shujat Ali Hall, Waris Road Hostels.
The minister also approved the contract for the repair and maintenance of the 14 anesthesia machines. The minister also directed an inquiry into the outsourcing of security at Ganga Ram Hospital.
