KARACHI – Pakistan’s financial hub Karachi becomes centre of Pakistan’s renewable energy drive as Solar Pakistan 2026 brings together more than 350 companies from 15 countries to showcase technologies that could reshape the country’s energy landscape.
The three-day international exhibition opened at the Karachi Expo Centre on Friday, putting solar power, advanced energy storage and smart grid systems in the spotlight as Pakistan looks for ways to reduce energy costs and diversify its power resources.
Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, Senior Vice President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), inaugurated the event, organised by Fakt Exhibitions (Pvt.) Ltd. The exhibition will continue until October 11.
Addressing the opening ceremony, Magoon highlighted the growing role of solar energy in helping households, farmers and small businesses reduce their electricity expenses, while also supporting the country’s industrial sector. He called for stronger coordination among the private sector, academic institutions, technology providers and policymakers to accelerate the adoption of renewable energy across Sindh and other parts of Pakistan.
Magoon also emphasised that industry exhibitions could help bring new technologies to the market, facilitate technical knowledge-sharing and create partnerships needed to advance the transition towards cleaner energy.
Fakt Exhibitions Chief Executive Saleem Khan Tanoli described Pakistan’s energy transition as a critical undertaking, noting that solar power offered opportunities to develop a more affordable and sustainable energy system. He pointed to Sindh’s abundant sunshine, coastline and industrial base as important advantages for renewable energy development. Karachi, he added, was strategically positioned to connect businesses, government representatives, investors and technology providers.
The exhibition has attracted policymakers, diplomats, industry representatives, energy specialists, investors and renewable energy professionals from Pakistan and abroad, creating opportunities for collaboration across the sector.
From high-efficiency solar panels to energy storage systems and smart grid solutions, the exhibition features technologies aimed at improving how energy is generated, stored and managed.
Organisers are positioning the event as a platform for encouraging investment, establishing business connections and introducing emerging renewable energy solutions to Pakistan’s market.
The gathering comes as the country seeks to diversify its energy mix and address the rising importance of reliable and affordable power for domestic consumers, agriculture and industry.
