BAHAWALPUR – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) senior leader and Member of the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer has passed away after several weeks of illness.
His family confirmed his death, saying that he had suffered a brain hemorrhage and underwent surgery. He had remained unwell for several weeks before his death.
Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer was the father of Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channer.
Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan expressed deep sorrow and grief over the death of the PML-N lawmaker.
The speaker said that Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channer’s political and public services would always be remembered.
He also expressed solidarity with Deputy Speaker Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channer and other members of the bereaved family, while praying for the deceased’s forgiveness, elevated status in the hereafter and patience for the family.
The other political leaders and social workers also expressed sorrow and grief over demise of Muhammad Iqbal Channer.
