FIFA Forward Enterprise’ proposal withdrawn amid lack of consensus

Fifa Forward Enterprise Proposal Withdrawn Amid Lack Of Consensus

ZURICH – FIFA has officially withdrawn its proposed FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative after determining that it no longer serves the best interests of the global game.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the proposal had become a source of division within the football community and would therefore not be pursued further.

Infantino explained that the FIFA Forward Enterprise initiative was subject to the support of a majority of FIFA’s member associations.

Following extensive consultations and consideration of feedback from stakeholders, FIFA concluded that there was insufficient consensus to move ahead with the proposal.

He reiterated that FIFA’s core mission remains fostering unity and advancing the development of football around the world. The organisation, he said, will continue to engage with all relevant stakeholders and remain committed to supporting football development, particularly in countries where greater investment and assistance are needed.

The FIFA President confirmed that the FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal has now been formally withdrawn and that no further action will be taken regarding the initiative.
