KARACHI – Wedding card of Junaid Safdar, son of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and Captain (R) Safdar, surfaced online, confirming the upcoming grand wedding celebrations.
According to the card, the walima (reception) is scheduled for January 18, 2026, at the family’s iconic residence, Jati Umra.
Former Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif, reportedly traveled to Dubai in December alongside Maryam Nawaz to oversee preparations for his grandson’s high-profile wedding.
Speculation about Maryam Nawaz’s son’s wedding has been circulating for months, and now the details are finally out. Junaid Safdar is set to marry Shanze Sheikh, the granddaughter of prominent personality Roohail Asghar. According to Roohail Asghar, the wedding will span three days, January 16, 17, and 18, but it will not be a public-style event.

Mehndi ceremony of the bride and groom will take place at Jati Umra, the baraat (wedding procession) will be hosted in Lake City, and the walima will also be held at Jati Umra.
This will be Junaid Safdar’s second marriage. His previous wedding was with the daughter of prominent businessman Saifur Rehman, which ended in divorce in October 2023.
