Silver nears Rs10,000 per Tola in Pakistan amid historic surge

Silver Nears Rs10000 Per Tola In Pakistan Amid Historic Surge

ISLAMABAD – The price of silver is near Rs10,000 in Pakistan, amid sharp increase in global demand for the precious metal. In global market, silver reached $90 per ounce, marking a 3.6% rise, while prices have jumped 25% in just the first two weeks of 2026.

One ounce of silver is roughly equal to 2.5 tolas, Rs10,000 per tola locally. In comparison, gold also continues to rise but at a slower pace. During 2025, Pakistan saw gold prices increase by 184,362 per tola, while silver rose by 4,368, closing the year at 7,718 per tola. By January 2026, silver had reached Rs9,075 per tola.

Experts link surge to rising global demand, particularly from Beijing, where silver is widely used in manufacturing electric vehicles, solar panels, and electronics. Reduced supply, geopolitical tensions, and fears of inflation have also pushed investors toward safe-haven assets like silver and gold.

Silver could reach $100 per ounce and gold $5,000 per ounce in the coming months due to high demand and limited supply. Market experts say that while gold remains a traditional safe investment, silver’s increasing industrial use is driving its value even higher.
