KARACHI – The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) has witnessed a strong recovery on the last trading day of the week as the benchmark index gained more than 2,000 points amid renewed investor confidence.
Meanwhile, the rupee showed slight stability against the US dollar in the interbank market.
According to market data, the KSE-100 Index surged by 2,015 points, reaching 158,748 points during Friday’s session.
The sharp rebound followed a steep decline in the previous session when the index had lost 1,732 points, closing below the 156,000 mark.
Market analysts attributed the bullish trend to improved investor sentiment, expectations of economic stability, and renewed buying interest across key sectors.
They said the upward momentum reflected growing confidence in the government’s ongoing economic measures and policy continuity.
On the currency front, the Pakistani rupee showed minor fluctuations.
According to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan (ECAP), the US dollar slipped by two paisas in the interbank market, settling at Rs280.90.
The analysts said the rupee’s relative stability alongside a strong stock market performance signals cautious optimism among investors ahead of the new month, though global market volatility and domestic inflationary pressures continue to pose challenges.
