Provincial Minister of Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Muhammad Basharat Raja has said that doctors in Punjab are currently fighting against corona on the frontline so the Punjab government will remove all their legitimate concerns so that they can treat patients with full concentration.
He was chairing a government committee meeting with the Grand Health Alliance (GHA) at the CCPO office on Saturday.
The government negotiating committee set up by the chief minister was accompanied by Secretary Specialized Health Nabil Awan, CCPO Lahore and other officers. Raja Basharat said that the good sign was that a positive thinking prevailed on both sides of the Department of Health and the GHA to address the issues.
The minister said that all the demands of the GHA have been discussed in detail and concesus evolved on maximum issues.
He said eight of the ten doctors’ demands have been acknowledged, including the supply of PPE kits and full screening. He said that the doctor or staff who may sacrifice life during the duty of Corona will be given the status of martyr.
Meanwhile, GHA Pateron in Chief Dr Atif Chaudhry expressed satisfaction over the talks and said that they had full confidence in the Provincial Minister for Law, Mohammad Basharat Raja. “All hospitals are open at this time and we will not allow patients to be disturbed,” he said.
