LAHORE – Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) has increase the price money for the medalists and olympians for their contributions for Pakistan in the international competitions.
The gold medalists in the Summer, Winter and Para-Olympic Games will now get a prize money of Rs10 million. The Silver medalists in the Olympics would not receive Rs7.5 million while Bronze medalists would be awarded Rs5 million prize money.
The board has issued a notification regarding increase in the prize money.
For the Asian Games, the gold medalists would receive Rs7.5 million, silver medalists would get Rs5 million while bronze medalists would be awarded Rs3 million.
In the Commonwealth Games, the gold medalists would receive Rs5 million, silver medalists will get Rs3 million while bronze medalists would be awarded Rs2 million
For the Special Olympics World Games, the prizes would be Rs500.000, Rs300,000 and Rs200,000while gold medalists in the Blind World Games and Deaf Olympics would get Rs2 million, Rs1 million and Rs500,000 respectively.
Gold medal winners in the National Games and Quaid-e-Azam Games would receive Rs1 million each. Under the Cash Award Policy, all the medalists would also receive a Gold Card, which would grant them access to all facilities at the PSB and coaching centers.
Additionally, the athletes would be entitled to a 20-day free stay at the PSB and coaching center hostels.
The PSB spokesperson said that the approval for the increase in prize money, along with other facilities, was granted during the PSB meeting held on December 4.
