Karachi, Hyderabad, Sindh weather update; more rains likely

KARACHI – More rain-wind/thunderstorms are likely in Karachi, Hyderabad and parts of Sindh on Friday evening/night.

Per the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), low pressure lies over north Arabian Sea and adjoining areas of southeast Sindh, and likely to persist during next 24-30 hours. Weak Monsoon currents are penetrating upper/central parts of Pakistan. A westerly wave is also affecting upper parts of the country.

Under these weather conditions, more rain-wind/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Mithi, Tharparker, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas, Badin, Sajawal, Thatta and Karachi on Friday evening/night.

On Saturday, mainly hot and humid weather is expected in most districts of the province. However, rain-wind/thundershowers are likely at isolated places in Mithi, Tharparkar, Umarkot, Sanghar, Mirpur Khas and Badin. Light rain/drizzle is also likely at isolated places in coastal districts of Sindh. Hot and humid weather is expected elsewhere in the province.

Karachi’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 36-38°C on Saturday and 35-37°C on Sunday.

Hyderabad’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 42-44°C on Saturday and 40-42°C on Sunday.

Meanwhile, rain-wind/thunderstorms of varying intensities occurred in Karachi and parts of Sindh during the last 24 hours.

Jacobabad remained the hottest place in the province where the maximum temperature was recorded at 43°C. Maximum temperature in Dadu, Mohenjo-Daro and Sukkur was recorded at 41°C.

In Karachi, maximum temperature was recorded at 39°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 49 percent.

In Hyderabad, maximum temperature was recorded at 37°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 55 percent.
