Academia-industry links need of hour: Prof Khalid

Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood has said that promoting links between industry and academia is need of the hour.

This was stated by him while addressing Punjab University College of Pharmacy’s 10th degree awarding ceremony here on Saturday.

PUCP Principal DrAtifRaza, Registrar Dr Ahmad Islam, faculty members, students and their parents were present on the occasion.

Address the participants, Prof Dr Khalid Mahmood said that due to the high educational standards of the College of Pharmacy, students from other countries also come to study here.

He said that the college’s MoUs with DRAP, Primary and Secondary Health and various industries would promote the practical skills of the students.

The VC PU congratulated the students who received degrees and medals to their parents and teachers. He said that the role of students in the development of the country is very important.

DrAtifRaza said that a total of 229 undergraduate and 27 MPhil scholars have been awarded degrees while six gold medals were awarded to the outstanding students. He hoped that with hard work and devotion the graduates would earn fame for them and college as well.
