Aneeq champions interfaith dialogue for global peace

Caretaker Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Aneeq Ahmed, on Wednesday emphasized the crucial necessity of dialogue between religions and civilizations to establish global peace during a seminar in Quetta. He underscored that the purpose of the meeting with Ulema and Mashaykh was to strengthen religious harmony and mutual respect.

The seminar included notable figures such as Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad, Maulana Anwarul Haqqani, Mufti Roozi Khan, Dr. Attaur Rahman, Sardar Jasbir Singh, Dr. Anand Bhatia, Nadir Gul Barech, Rev. Simon Bashir, and Roshan Khursheed Barucha.

Minister Aneeq reiterated the government’s proactive measures to foster interfaith harmony, emphasizing the importance of comprehending contradictions for a peaceful society and highlighting Islam’s teachings on dialogue among religions. He asserted, “To achieve global peace, adherence to Islamic principles is imperative.”

Sardar Jasbir Singh earlier underscored the contributions of all minorities in Pakistan to the nation’s progress, emphasizing the full religious freedom enjoyed by minorities in the country. Dr. Anand Kumar Bhatia emphasized the collective responsibility in promoting inter-religious harmony, stating, “It is the duty of the Muslim majority in Pakistan to safeguard the rights of minorities.”

Bishop Simon Bashir stressed the significance of understanding differences to cultivate respect for other faiths, urging minorities to contribute positively to the country while disregarding rumours.
