Staff Reporter Special Assistant to CM Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Syed Qassim Naveed Qamar has said that regular sports week will be organized in Special Education and Rehabilitation Centers to enhance the talents of differently abled children. This he said while presiding over a meeting here in his office. Secretary DEPD Pervaiz Ahmed Seehar, Director DEPD Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, Deputy Secretary Shahzaib Shaikh and other officers also attended the meeting. It was also decided in the morning that a monitoring team would be constituted to inspect all institutions and survey of the persons with disabilities would be carried out on priority basis. The Special Assistant also directed to arrange teachers’ training programs to develop their teaching skills, adding that Sindh Disability Act should be translated into Sindhi language. He asked them to develop Academic Calendar for the department and all measures should be taken to empower vocational training centers so that differently abled children might be able to earn respectable earnings in future. Qassim Naveed Qamar said that Sindh Government was ensuring a better environment for persons with disabilities, such as issuance of driving license to hearing impaired persons, issuance of special CNICs, disability certificates, five percent job quota in public and private sectors and special washrooms in newly constructed buildings.
