Cooperation with Iran crucial for Pakistan’s economic uplift

Pakistan’s strong commitment to further strengthen and deepen ties with Iran, with particular focus on economic cooperation is crucial for Pakistan’s economic uplift particularly to meet challenges in energy sector. These views were expressed by Editor-in-Chief of Pakistan Observer Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, during a call on meeting with Consul General Iran Mr Hassan Nourain. People and governments of both Iran and Pakistan value ties with each other as they are linked in a perennial bond of friendship, said the CEO of Pakistan Observer. While thanking Mr Faisal Zahid Malik, the Iranian CG reaffirmed Iran’s strong commitment to further strengthen and deepen ties with Pakistan.

There was a consensus in the meeting that the Iran-Pakistan gas pipeline could change the entire economic landscape of the region and usher in a new era of progress and prosperity. All Pakistan’s energy woes would come to an end once it is completed, it wa further noted during the meeting. It maybe mentioned here that the Iranian government has completed the construction of the gas pipeline on ots soil, it is now our turn to successfully execute it on our soil.

Underscoring the close fraternal relations between the two neighboring countries, the CEO of Pakistan Observer stressed that steps including the recent inauguration of the Mand-Border border marketplace, would not only contribute to the economic uplift of the border areas but also serve as a tangible manifestation of the collective commitment to work for the betterment of the two peoples.

Noting that Iran’s President policy of ‘Neighborhood First’ was fully aligned with Pakistan’s vision for regional development and connectivity, he said it demonstrated our deep and strong bond of friendship. The Iranian CG was of the view that Iran-Pakistan relations were characterized by regular high-level exchanges, commonality of views on important regional and global issues and strengthened cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.
