Staff Reporter Mayor Wasim Akhtar has said the day has come to fulfill the desire of the allotees of the shops in the Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal. “The construction work will be completed soon now.” He said those who did not submitted the challan should submit it at the earliest so they could also get the place here, adding phase II of the project will also be started soon. “The Government of Sindh is requested to take the measures for shifting of oil tankers from Shirin Jinnah Colony to the Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal.” He expressed these views while speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony of demarcation and possession of the shops at the Zulfiqarabad Oil Tankers Parking Terminal on Thursday. The mayor said that the residents should be given alternate before their removal. He thanked the Prime Minister for supporting the stance of empowering local bodies. He said that the construction cost these shops would be included in the rent. The facilities provided here are thousand times better than available in the Shirin Jinnah Colony. He said to those who went for protest that KMC was fully implementing the directive of the Supreme Court. No injustice would be made to anyone and everyone would get his right. Mayor Karachi said that the support from the prime minister for local bodies would not only strengthen these organizations but also pave the way for more progress in the country. Project Director Raza Abbas said that the shopkeepers were given the possession today. All facilities have been provided for parking of tankers. Vice president of the People’s Lines Welfare Association Raja Shakoor said that a few people were used by some elements; however their nefarious designs would not be succeeded.
