Police arrested 10,076 outlaws in June

A spokesman for Punjab Police has said during the month of June, 10,076 criminals and 1,934 fugitives were arrested across Punjab, including the provincial capital.

Among the arrested individuals, 1,378 were wanted for various offences, including 268 cases of murder, 107 cases of robbery, 973 cases of theft, 12 cases of dacoity, and 5 cases of kidnapping for ransom.

Notably, the Lahore district was ranked first in the province with 245 arrests, followed by Sialkot with 151 arrests related to crackdown against proclaimed offenders and Faisalabad was ranked third with 120 accused in custody. In addition, a total of 1,934 proclaimed offenders were apprehended from different areas of the province during this crackdown.

It is worth mentioning that, with the assistance of Interpol, 88 dangerous criminals have been extradited and brought back to Pakistan this year. IG Dr Usman Anwar commended the diligent efforts of the police teams responsible for the successful apprehension of these criminals.

He emphasised the importance of maintaining close coordination with litigants and ensuring effective information sharing to ensure that dangerous criminals are brought to justice.

Dr Usman directed the Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to personally oversee and monitor the operations aimed at apprehending these high-profile criminals.
