The National Assembly Committee on National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination (NHSR&C) has expressed displeasure over the change in composition of Board Members of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC).
The 4th meeting of the NA Body on NHSR&C was held in Committee room of PIPS Parliament Lodges, Islamabad with MNA Khalid Hussain Magsi in chair.
The Committee directed to hold inquiry on the issue and submit its report to the Committee. The Committee observed that requirement for appearing in entry test increased to 70% marks in F.Sc.
However, to encourage the students from backward areas of Balochistan and Sindh the Committee recommended lessening the merit from 70% to 60%.
The NA Body directed that evaluation and inspection of the Medical Colleges must be strictly observed, if not found up to marked, may be given some time to improve themselves otherwise be closed. It also appreciated the efforts made by PMDC regarding online registration of doctor to avoid unnecessary delay.
