Appreciating the role of opposition in the passage of services Chiefs extension bill, the Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad Thursday said a new political process was going to be started soon. ‘A positive environment has emerged after all the opposition parties had supported three-year extension of the Army Chief. The Prime Minister Imran Khan is comfortably going to complete his five years term’. The Railways Minister, whose party Awami Muslim League is an ally of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, told media persons in Peshawar.
He said Pakistan Army fully supported the democratic process in the country and both Government and Pakistan Army were on same page on all issues of national importance. Sheikh Rasheed said the extension to the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa was an effective and much needed step under the circumstances when India was hit by strong protests in reaction of the atrocities against its citizens and wrong policies of the Modi led government.
He said he had already predicted that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) were going to vote in favor of COAS extension. The minister, however, held assurance that the accountability process, that forms part of PTI agenda would continue at all costs and the real shape of the accountability process will be unveiled after March 2020.
Minister for Railways has said that the provincial capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar, was be going to become a center of railway track after Gwadar adding the Prime Minister Imran Khan has decided to inaugurate a gigantic dry port in Azakhel on Friday. (Today).
He said it was in the interest of the world to start trading from Jalalabad route. ‘I am promising here that I will give a new train to Peshawar in 2020’. Railways minister said adding ML-1 project will give employment to 100,000 youth. He said the series of mainline project was actually a part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
