Pasban Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman Altaf Shakoor on Tuesday challenged the recent hike in prices of petroleum products in the Sindh High Court (SHC). The court would hear this important petition on January 09, 2020.
As per details, PDP Chairman Altaf Shakoor in his constitutional petition filed through their lawyer Irfan Aziz Advocate has maintained that the hike in prices of petroleum products is an unconstitutional step of the PTI government and this is tantamount to a cruelty towards masses.
He said poor people have already been facing hardships due to unprecedented price hike and the worsening economic crisis. In this grim scenario, shifting more financial burden to the poor masses may result in serious consequences. The petitioner said that on November 30, 2019, the government made a joke with people by reducing oil prices by Rs0.25 per liter.
