Businessmen ask CDA for steps to remove concerns of traders of G-11 Markaz

Headed by President Traders Welfare Association, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad Ch. Aftab Gujar, a delegation of the businessmen visited Islamabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) on Tuesday and highlighted key issues of their market that needed urgent attention of Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation of Islamabad (MCI).
President ICCI Muhammad Ahmed Waheed, Senior Vice President Tahir Abbasi, Vice President Saif ur Rahman Khan, Chairman Founder Group Zubair Ahmed Malik, former President ICCI Muhammad Ejaz Abbasi, Khalid Chaudhry and others attended the meeting.
Speaking at the occasion, Ch. Aftab Gujar President and Syed Qaiser Abbas Kazmi Secretary General, Traders Welfare Association, G-11 Markaz, Islamabad said that due to inattention of CDA and MCI, traders of their market were facing many problems. They said that filtration plant was not installed in their market due to which people of the area were deprived of clean drinking water. The office bearers of the Traders Welfare Assocation said that water shortage, broken roads, footpaths, insufficient parking, sewerage system, sanitation, street lights, lack of public toilet etc. were the major issues in G-11 Markaz. They stressed that CDA and MCI should address these issues and focus on development works in G-11 Markaz in order to facilitate the growth of business activities.
Addressing the delegation, President ICCI Muhammad Ahmed Waheed said that G-11 Markaz was one of important business centres of the federal capital and urged that CDA and MCI should urgently resolve highlighted issues of traders of the area. He said the business community of Islamabad was not satisfied with the performance of CDA and MCI as both were not resolving their major issues. He stressed upon the government to bring reforms in these organizations so that they could deliver better services to the citizens. He said that IESCO should proper organize electric wires in G-11 Markaz in order to avoid any fatal incident. —INP
