This happens only here

Strange and extraordinary sort of things continued to happen in Pakistan which by and large are not reported from other countries of the world and as such only happen in our beloved motherland. Political leaders hailing from former ruling parties are facing trials in the superior and accountability courts and investigations on corruption, money laundering and other charges. Despite these trials, cases and investigations and bailed out on one pretext or the other, they are all indulging in sorts of political activities aiming at the ouster of the incumbent PMIK levelling all charges and allegations such as being incompetent, inefficient, most corrupt, coming into power through rigged July 2018 general election and what not..

Pertinent questions which this scribe wants to ask is why these political leaders should be so freely and extensively be indulging in political activities without getting themselves acquitted in the cases against them, why they should be given extensive media coverage without making pointed mention of cases against them and why the honourable superior courts and accountability courts do not take sou moto notice of the ongoing political activities by convicted and accused political leaders?

This scribe also wants to mention here that this only happens here that the accused/convicted political leaders are being given extensively free media coverage and not barred from undertaking such activities as long as they are facing trials and investigations. Quite interestingly, they also seek exemptions from appearances and extensions in the courts on health grounds while they keep shuttling between Islamabad, Karachi and Lahore and elsewhere regularly and frequently in a healthy manner untiringly.

Do not call diesel

Huge respect for COAS who asked the Prime Minister Imran Khan not to call diesel to Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman. Prime Minister replied that people call him (Maulana), that’s why he also calls him diesel. It is not appropriate to call a cleric with such names as clerics possess sufficient knowledge of The Quran and Hadits owing to which clerics should be respected. People always comment that what is the role of a cleric in politics and why Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman has come into politics. He might be criticized over having difference of opinions or having dissents over opinion but he should and must not be treated badly come what may because he is a cleric or at least should not be pronounced with such bad names.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Clerics’ role is not just leading the obligatory prayers in Masjids and teach The Holy Quran instead clerics should serve in all walks of life and perform their duties. Islam is not just the name of offering salah instead it teaches us a complete way of life that how it should be lived which includes to deal with societal issues, worships, morality, politics etc and Moulana Fazal-ur-Rehman is discharging his services in politics.

Increasing street crimes

Today, we are all aware of the growing problems on the streets of Pakistan right now. Street crime is becoming one of the most common activities for people. There is no denying that every corner of Pakistan is affected by street crimes. Karachi is a place where street crime is escalating every day. Criminals see street crime as a game because they show citizens the power of weapons. They know that people have a great fear of weapons.

Mobile phones, wallets and car thefts are on the rise. You might be wondering, why is street crime increasing every day? Several studies have shown that poverty, inflation and lack of jobs are the main reasons which force people to engage in illegal activities. Both the incumbent federal and provincial governments should take immediate actions to make Karachi a safe city before the situation gets even worse.

Women empowerment

According to a study, it is estimated that between 10 and 20% women in Pakistan have suffered some form of abuse. Physical violence, dowry deaths, low economical status of women, acid attacks, honour killing, less education and job access, lack of awareness about women rights and psychological abuse of women are the issues faced by women worldwide including Pakistan. To empower our women, we have to spread awareness which is possible through education. Second step is to change the mindset of our women from Sinf-e-Nazuk to Sinf-e-Ahan (woman of steel), because when the mindset changes, things on the outside change as well.

There is a long history of women oppression in our society. Solution is to empower our daughters with education and queen mindset so that they can take stand against any injustice and violence. Unlike the princess, who’s always looking outside of her for acceptance, a Queen looks within her inner-self and knows who she is and what she values. If we want to empower our society, we have to empower our women because women empowerment is a key to build a bright future.
