Minister Health Punjab Dr. Yasmeen Rashid has directed health department officials to take stern action against those not following the SOPs of hepatitis including barbers, hotel owners and health officials.
She directed Special Secretary to remove officers who do not work. She further said that we are providing the free facility of medicine and treatment to the hepatitis patients in Punjab from 121 centers. All officers have been directed to take stern action against barbers and beauty parlours which do not follow SOPs. All workers in hotels must be permitted to work after screening. All blood banks should be monitored to minimize the reasons of spreading hepatitis.
This decision to take action was taken in a briefed meeting in which she reviewed the performance of Punjab Aids Control Program. Punjab Hepatitis Control Programme and Punjab TB Control programme at primary and secondary healthcare department. Special Secretary Ajmal Bhatti, PM Punjab Hepatitis Programme Dr. Khalid Mehmood, PM Punjab TB control programme Dr. Amir Nazir, PM Punjab Aids Control programme Dr. Munir, Dr. Farhan and Rana Iqbal were on the spot.
Officers should make strategy after getting all history of hepatitis patients. Special Secretary Ajmal Bhatti will monitor all activities of vertical programmes. Legislation must be completed soon to ensure SOPs. SMS being sent in affected areas of TB disease. Punjab Aids control programme being expanded on mega level.
In the meanwhile Provincial Minister has met with a delegation of Association of Pakistani Physicians of Northern Europe at Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department on Monday. President Pakistani Physicians of Northern Europe Association Dr. Aamir Barni, Executive Member Dr. Ambreen Sajid, General Secretary Dr. Irfan Akhtar and Mian Zahid were also present on this occasion. Three members delegation informed Dr. Yasmeen Rashid about medical services being rendered in northern Europe. The delegation also gave important proposals about steps to be taken for bringing more improvement in health sector.
Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that Pakistani doctors are rendering excellent services all over the world and earning name and fame for the country.
