Pakistan preparing to join Lisbon Agreement (Geneva Act) for international Protection of GIs.

After enactment of GI Act in 2020, registering Basmati rice as first ever GI of Pakistan in 2021 and notifying 65 potential GIs, now Pakistan is taking off to join Lisbon Agreement (Geneva Act) for international registration of GIs.

In this connection first Consultative Session held on 28th February at PC, Karachi.

Mr. Meesaq Arif, Executive Director IPO-Pakistan upraised the participants about benefits of the Lisbon Agreement. Mr. Muhammad Ismail, Director IPO-Pakistan presented the procedure for joining the Agreement.
